Directorate General for Information Society and Media of the European Commission, 
Unit F4 "New Infrastructure Paradigms and Experimental Facilities" organises a launch event with the support of 
FIREworks and OneLab2 projects.
This FIRE Launch Event marks the starting point of the 14 research projects, which have been selected from the first call.
The Event initiates the round-table discussion among the FIRE stakeholders drafting the vision and the roadmap for the European Experimental Facility. FIRE Experts from Members States, relevant national initiatives, and projects not only from FIRE, but also from Future Networks’ field in national, EUREKA, namely Celtic, and FPx portfolios are invited to the Event. This all is presented within the French EU Presidency policy priorities, from which high-level speeches will be given at the FIRE Launch Event.
FIREworks collects visions and views from the diversity of FIRE stakeholders both from academia and industry. Given selected presentations and largely enabled and stimulated networking at the Event, the FIRE Launch leads to identifying the ways to improve synergies and added value with other research initiatives, be they worldwide, at EU or national levels.
