FIRE and Living Labs - Future Internet by people

The conference, with support of the Swedish EU presidency, is organised by Directorate General for Information Society and Media of the European Commission, Unit F4 "New Infrastructure Paradigms and Experimental Facilities", FIREworks project, and Centre for Distance-spanning Technology, at Luleå University of Technology.
Scope and objectives of the Conference
FIRE and Living Labs Conference gives an overview on how Future Internet Research and Experimentation is carried out today in Europe, US and Japan, how innovation is captured and users are involved in the process. It is addressed how FIRE and the Living Lab movement can work jointly together and users can bring added value for Future Internet research to best contribute to European competitiveness and growth. The conference objectives are:
- To address the cruciality of multi-disciplinary, experimental and participatory Future Internet research
- To demonstrate and promote the potential of the Living Lab methodology within the Future Internet Research context;
- To share ongoing Future Internet research among the FIRE and Living Lab community for a common understanding
- To announce FP7 ICT call 5
- To publicly announce the Call for Membership Applications of the European Network of Living Labs 4th wave and the Living Lab prize
- To discuss how Living Lab and FIRE can work jointly together for best value of Europe in the context of the Lisbon Strategy i2010
Target audience
This event is specific addressing project partners of the FIRE Community, members of the European Network of Living Labs, and the FI and Living Lab open innovation communities in general. We also welcome individuals interested in learning more about ongoing Future Internet Research and Experimentation, and Living Labs.
