Wireless Networks (i) Overview of R&D on wireless transmission technologies which are expected to become key technologies for NWGN, (ii) Impact of ad hoc and wireless connectivity on network architecture, (iii) Their expected role on NWGN architecture
Photonic Networks (i) Overview of R&D on photonic network both core and access (e.g. network control / management technologies, photonic node technologies) which will be needed for large capacity network, (ii) Their expected role on NWGN architecture
Overlay Networks (i) Overview of R&D on Overlay Networks which cover not only P2P and overlay applications but on virtualization on lower layers such as network and transport layers. Main scope is end to end routing.

Testbeds and Experimentally Driven Research (i) Overview of activities on networks of testbeds and experimental facilities supporting FI & NWGN Research, (ii) Major design principles for experimental facilities: federation, virtualization, openness, …, (iii) Experimentally-driven research projects contributing to the realization of NWGN and FI
Research for secure service infrastructures in the future internet (i) Overview of research on fundamental technologies to secure architectures and platforms for a trustworthy internet, which encompasses networks, trustworthy services and privacy protection, (ii) Views on: identity in the FI & NWGN; vulnerabilities and threats; trust mechanisms; interplay of technology with legislation, regulation, social sciences and economics
Future Applications - Broadband Applications (i) Emerging broadband applications according to development of broadband circumstance, (ii) Overview of R&D on important technologies that support their deployment
